Findley Walter Kendall Sr., 86, of 715 Harbor St., died May 4, 2020, at the Grove at New Castle. 

Findley was born on May 4, 1934, in New Castle. He was a son of the late Raymond and Grace (Crowl) Kendall. 

He was married to the former Loretta Iwanejko. They were married for 65 years. She survives at home. 

Findley was of the Protestant faith. 

Following graduation, he enlisted in the Marine Corp. on Feb. 3, 1953, in Pittsburgh. He was a member of the 5-91 Ammunition Handler Division. He earned the rank of sergeant on Dec. 1, 1955. Findley received many decorations and citations, among them were the Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged on Feb. 2, 1956, at MS, USMS, TI, at San Francisco, California. 

Findley retired after 41 years of service at Foster Grading Construction Company as a foreman. 

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed deer hunting. 

In addition to his wife, Findley is survived by four sons, Findley W. (Carole) Kendall Jr. of Newton Falls, Ohio, Raymond John (Denise) Kendall of New Castle, Mark (Beth) Kendall of New Castle and Michael (Karen) Kendall of New Castle; a daughter, Marcy (Robert) Duncan of Beverly Hill, Florida; two brothers, David (Rosella) Kendall of New Castle and William (Bonnie) Kendall; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Raymond Kendall Jr.; sister, Eleanor Flick; and grandson, Brian Kendall. 

Burial was in Graceland Cemetery. 

Findley was the 231st classmate to walk down the aisle at graduation. After his name in the Yearbook it reads: Shop football 11-12.
